Klezmer Music Foundation keeps the culture alive and vibrant by reaching worldwide audiences and creates a legacy with education and performances.

Just a few examples are...

  • Collaborations: Maxwell Street has collaborated with the JCC, the Lutheran Seminaries, the Yiddish Arts Ensemble, Urban Gateways, Evanston Schools and others to create community performances fostering good will.

  • 'Joy of Klez’ Songbook (Tara Publications, 2001), ten klezmer band arrangements used by synagogues, beginning musicians and new klezmer bands around the country.
  • ‘Eight Nights of Joy’ - Two favorite musical talents join forces in this rollicking holiday concert, which debuted in December 2006. Rabbi Joe Black, one of America’s most revered Jewish folk-rock artists, takes the music up a notch with the help of Maxwell Street, in a collection of new holiday music.
